With Fabregas and Nasri in contract limbo for the past couple of weeks, Arsenal hasn't made any full-fledged moves to grab players yet.
With other clubs looking to move for big names like Scott Parker, Arsenal will have to begin making offers soon to stay in the race.
Rumors are flying everywhere though, and here are five potential targets for Arsene Wenger to look at.
The 27-year-old Congo defender could be a major boost to the Arsenal defensive core.
Samba stands at 6'4" and has the size to make strikers think twice. He plays defense with precision and does not over pursue.
Samba is at the height of his career and would bring some experience and leadership to the Gunners.
According to goal.com, the Gunners were attempting to grab Samba for £10 million but the Rovers are hesitant to give him up for this much and are asking for £12 million.
Wenger is looking for a striker to provide some firepower up front.
Gervinho might be just the man he is looking for. With Bendtner apparently on his way out, Gervinho could immediately fill in that empty slot.
Gervinho and Arsenal also have a mutual interest.
Gervinho stated in 2008, "I need to keep working and Arsenal will open the door for me. I have dreamed about that club. To play for them will be the best day of my life and I will do anything to play for Arsenal."
Gervinho could easily be the first big transfer landing for Arsenal. The Telegraph reports Arsenal will grab him for £10.6 million before the weekend is out.
The 20-year-old Belgian player is another Lille star that has caught the eye of Wenger.
Although it is doubtful that Lille will sell both Hazard and Gervinho, Arsenal has a great opportunity to grab one of the two players.
Hazard had 10 assists and 7 goals in league play in 38 caps last season and has a lot of potential to be a star in the EPL.
Wenger will have to pay a hefty price for Hazard of over £20 million but the young attacking midfielder could be well worth it.
Although the chances are slim, the Hazard/Gervinho tandem could both be brought to Arsenal for a fresh new look near goal.
The giant German defender has been linked with Arsenal for a while and this could be the transfer window that he is finally grabbed by Wenger.
With Wenger looking to strengthen the center back position, there is a good chance Mertesacker could be that choice.
Mertesacker is a good tackler and good at reading the pitch to make interceptions.
At 6'6", he is an imposing figure and a great addition to have for set pieces.
The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal could be moving for the German player for a fair price of £10 million.
The Football Writer's Player of the Year is a major target for many clubs.
Right now, Wenger will have to contend with Harry Redknapp who is reportedly close to grabbing the midfielder for Tottenham.
Former Gunner Lee Dixon has stated he has high hopes that the Gunners will land Parker, but thinks that whether or not they grab him will depend on how the Fabregas situation turns out.
Parker won the EPL Player of the Month in February. He was consistently West Ham's top player each year.
Scott Parker could bring experience, leadership, and great play on the field to the young Arsenal team.
