2011 NBA Draft Results: Bismack Biyombo Goes No. 7 to Charlotte Bobcats
A 6’9” Congolese center with a 7’7” wingspan, Bismack Biyombo has the size necessary to make an immediate impact as a shot-blocker in the NBA.
Now, couple that size with ridiculous athleticism and great instincts plus incredible quickness for a player his size, and you’ll see why Biyombo has all the tools necessary to become one of the greatest low-post defenders this league has seen in quite some time.
As for offense though, well, that’s an entirely different story. Biyombo may be one of the worst offensive prospects to ever be considered a first-round talent.
Once he has played for longer and gains some basketball IQ, Biyombo could justify his draft position, but it will take some time. I still think that will happen though if his triple-double at the Nike Hoops Summit, the first ever at that game, is any indication.
When it was all said and done, Biyombo was drafted by the Sacramento Kings and then traded to the Charlotte Bobcats.
He is going to make an immediate impact on defense, but he won't be able to score yet. Without Stephen Jackson, I am no longer sure where the offense is going to come from in Charlotte.
