American hockey fans know the drill. Canadian-born players dominate the NHL Entry Draft. Even European players give the American-born kids a run for their money. The 2011 NHL Draft ought to be the same old song and dance for USA's finest.
That being said, there is a solid core of American-born players carrying the load for the United States in the various junior tournaments. Team USA has won three straight gold medals at the World Under-18 Championships and has also medaled in consecutive World Junior Hockey Championships, with a gold in 2010 and a bronze in 2011.
