The 2011 NBA Draft is now only days away.
I've been going back and forth, analyzing prospects, trying to gauge who each player in this draft reminds me of in the current NBA. I will be the first one to say, that this draft is by no means at the high level of say 2003, but yet to treat it as if there is no one of real value in it is a vast understatement.
There are some very quality picks that will be made Thursday night. Teams will get better with some of these players.
What makes this year's draft unique is the possibility for steals and sleeper picks. The difference between Jimmer Fredette, Klay Thompson and Marshon Brooks is relatively unknown and your guest is as good as mine which one will capitalize on their potential and become the best pro. This will make for entertaining television as one of these three could slide out of the lottery, but yet end up having the biggest impact.
Over the next few hours I will be posting a complete two round mock draft based on who I think will be the best fit for each team. I am not analyzing this by current skill set alone, nor am I going to be lost in the shaky analysis of evaluating players on potential alone.
What I hope to provide you all with is a complete, comprehensive and hopefully accurate prediction of what will happen Thursday night. I know there are plenty of trade conversations out there, but since none of use are behind closed doors hearing the actual phone calls, I will not waste your time with mere speculation.
So without further ado, here's a look at my two round 2011 NBA Mock Draft.
