Kurt Rambis: Minnesota Timberwolves Haven't Fired Rambis Quite Yet

Kurt Rambis Is Still the Head Coach of the Timberwolves, For Now...
When you win just 32 games in two seasons, odds are you're not going to be an NBA head coach for very long.
Case in point, take a look at Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Kurt Rambis. His head has been on the chopping block for a while now, but it sounds like the Wolves are finally ready to fire him.
Or, at least, they might be ready to fire him.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Wolves general manager David Kahn has decided to fire Rambis, but he's going to wait until after Thursday's NBA Draft to make it official. In the meantime, he's supposedly already weighing his options as far as replacements.

However, the word from ESPN's Chris Broussard via Twitter is that the Wolves are "denying internally" that they have fired Rambis. If this is true, maybe Rambis' job is safe. Either that or the Wolves didn't expect the news to be leaked so suddenly.
The latter scenario seems like the more realistic one. After all, Wojnarowski pointed out that Kahn has told reporters that Rambis won't even be in attendance during Thursday's draft. If he is to be fired, that would be just plain awkward.
Rambis does have two years left on his contract. But after watching him compile a 32-132 record as the Timberwolves head coach, including an NBA-worst 17-65 this past season, it's a good bet that the Minnesota faithful will not be sad to see Rambis go.
