2011 NBA Draft: The Cleveland Cavaliers Are Trying to Add a 3rd First-Round Pick
As if the Cleveland Cavaliers needed to add any more 2011 Draft picks, Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted recently that the Cavaliers are looking to move up into the first round yet again.
Cleveland's trying to get a 3rd first round pick -- in the 20's -- dangling its two second rounders (32 and 54) and maybe cash, sources say.
Potential trade partners late in the first round could include the Minnesota Timberwolves at No. 20, the Houston Rockets at No. 23, and even the Chicago Bulls at one of their two first round picks. The Cavaliers certainly have a talent depleted roster, which could explain this latest grasp to add another first round pick.
But this could also be an indication that the team isn't confident they can trade up to the No.2 spot. Maybe by adding a first round pick somewhere in the 20s before the draft would be enough to package to Minnesota for the second overall pick.
Or it could just be a desperate attempt to add as much young talent as possible to the NBA's least talented roster. But one thing is certain: Cleveland is not going to wait around in this draft to get the players they want.
