NBA Draft 2011: Draft Invitees Announced
Each year, the top prospects of the NBA Draft are invited to attend the festivities. This year, 14 players garnered an invitation to sit in the "green room" on Thursday at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
Kyrie Irving (Duke); Derrick Williams (Arizona); Enes Kanter (Turkey); Brandon Knight (Kentucky); Kemba Walker (UConn); Jonas Valanciunas (Lithuania); Jan Vesely (Czech Republic); Kawhi Leonard (San Diego State); Chris Singleton (Florida State); Klay Thompson (Washington State); Tristan Thompson (Texas); Jimmer Fredette (BYU); Marcus Morris (Kansas); and Alec Burks (Colorado).
NFL fans will recall the Brady Quinn draft debacle, in which a top-five pick fell all the way to No. 22 with national television capturing every grimace.
That shouldn't happen in this NBA draft, though it will be interesting to see how Markieff Morris (Marcus' brother, sure to be in the building) reacts as the gap widens between he and his twin.
ESPN's Chad Ford currently has Marcus going at No. 9 to the Charlotte Bobcats and Markieff at No. 19 to the same team. Markieff could fall even lower if the Bobcats smartly decide they don't want two of the same player.
Nothing like a little sibling rivalry caught on camera.
