Wimbledon 2011, NBA Draft, Kim Kardashian and More Hot Swagger News
With the 2011 NBA draft and Wimbledon both kicking off this week, it's going to be an exciting one in the sports world.
There is still some uncertainty as to who may go first overall, but the dominating consensus seems to be indicating that Duke point guard Kyrie Irving is the favorite.
Between the two events, there are a lot of hopeful athletes searching to land at the top, and it should be interesting to see how each one unfolds.
In other news, Kim Kardashian continued to make headlines over the weekend. She and soon-to-be husband Kris Humphries are loving life together, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the wedding plan sooner rather than later.
According to the India Times, it appears Kardashian has big business plans of her own on the side, especially if Humphries soon finds himself in the middle of a lockout.
"My sisters and I hope to create a perfume and call it Dashing. However, we are all so different—each has such different tastes and personalities, so it will be hard work."
Who knows, maybe Humphries can become a "reality star husband" like pending brother-in-law Lamar Odom is to Kim's sister, Khloe.
Those Kardashian girls seem to love NBA ballers.
I wonder if Kourtney will be the next to follow the pattern.
It's going to be an action-packed week filled with a ton of swaggerlicious news, so keep it locked to the B/R swagger channel for updates on everything that you care about.

Jan Vesely knows how to get it done on NBA draft night.
When Jan Vesely heard his name called by the Washington Wizards with the sixth overall selection in the 2011 NBA draft, he welcomed the moment in fantastic fashion.
Rather than going for the typical hug of the agent or kiss on the cheek to a family member, Vesely grabbed his girlfriend around the waist and planted a big kiss on his lady friend.
The New Jersey crowd erupted in cheers for Vesely and his girlfriend, and it appeared that they were more interested in continuing to watch the lovers than what prospect was taken off the board next.

Vesely welcomed his entrance to the NBA with an Academy Award winning performance before he walked on stage, but most eyes were fixated on his girlfriend for the rest of the night.
Larry Brown Sports caught up with Vesely after the kiss, and he offered a pretty honest and straightforward explanation.
“It’s my girlfriend. It was a big moment for me and for her for my family, so I don’t know. It was just casual, so I don’t know what to say.”
Keep doin' ya thing, Jan.
I can't wait to see him slam dunking over his opponents, making out with his girlfriend after a win and any other surprises that he may have in store at the professional level.

Kyrie Irving and Jimmer Fredette face massive expectations from their new NBA teams.
After Kyrie Irving was selected first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers, talk began about the franchise's last first overall draft pick back in 2003.
Newsflash: Iriving is not LeBron James. Nobody is. The comparisons need to stop before they even get started.
Irving is a highly touted point guard and has the potential to really impact the NBA game if he reaches his developmental ceiling, but that's a major hypothetical at this point.
As for Fredette, the Sacramento front office bought into Jimmer-mania even though the coaching staff seemed to be against the decision.
There's no doubt that he's going to sell tickets for a team that needs to fill the building, but I'm not sold that he makes the club any better.

Both prospects were incredibly hyped, and it'll certainly be interesting to see if either one lives up to the billing in their rookie season.
It's pretty tough to judge prospects in terms of NBA success before they ever step foot on the hardwood, but if these guys don't make a serious impact, they're going to be a very large disappointment.
As the Offspring might say, Jimmer is pretty fly for a white guy, and Irving has plenty of swag on his own, but neither one is going to matter when fans of their respective teams are passing judgement on opening night next season.
That's all that anyone is going to remember once the campaign gets underway.
Jennie Finch must have birthed a big boy to name him Diesel.
If Jennie Finch's newborn son is anything short of 6'4" and a thick 225 lbs by the time he's grown, he may have to consider changing his given name.
The softball ace introduced her new son to the public on June 20, and so far, he's lived up to the name.
Diesel was born weighing a solid eight pounds, two ounces, and he's already 22.25 inches big. That's almost a two-foot tall baby!
MUST READ: 20 Biggest Man Up Moments in Sports
According to People Magazine, Finch was more than excited to welcome her baby home.
"Casey and I are excited for our sweet precious Baby D! Ace couldn’t be any more pumped to be a big brother to Diesel."
But how much longer will he actually be the bigger of the two? Only time can tell.
The best part about Finch naming her son Diesel is that he can go through life with the initials of Triple-D. That's right, D.D.D.
Diesel Dean Daigle is a pretty powerful name, and with Finch as his mother, he better come out of the crib throwing some absolute smoke.
If he ever made it to the MLB, his nickname should definitely be Big Daddy Diesel Dean.
What kind of hitter wouldn't be afraid to hear that moniker being announced?
It's pretty cool that he will be able to ask his mom if she wants to go out back and play catch together, but Finch is probably one of the only mom's in the world that can toss it faster than her son.
But if Diesel lives up to his larger than life name, it won't be long before he outdoes her.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers just can't seem to avoid making headlines.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had a tumultuous offseason dealing with Aqib Talib and his off-field escapades, but now the trouble has found its way into the front office.
There is a reason that Commissioner Roger Goodell has come down so hard on the league when committing infractions, and it's because things like this continue to happen regularly.
The Daily Commerical reported on Wednesday morning that 32 men were arrested as part of a sex sting operation, including one official from the football franchise.

The details of the report are absolutely disturbing.
After corresponding with undercover detectives online, the 32 men were arrested -- including an official with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- this past week after being accused of trying to engage in sex with children.
I guess it could have been worse, as at least the official didn't find himself on an episode of To Catch A Predator with Chris Hansen, but it's pretty poor judgement.
It's astounding that such high-profile people seem to set themselves up to fall from grace with such regularity, but at this point, nothing that happens off the gridiron surprises me when it comes to the NFL.
Hopefully the next time that the Tampa Bay team decides to pursue a hire in the front office, they run an in-depth background check on the interested candidates.
Clearly, this employee was less than forthright and didn't divulge all of his interests during his interview.

The 2011 NBA draft is going to be all about finding the best value.
The NBA draft is packed with a plethora of potential talent, but there are also a ton of busts in the making that clubs will be looking to avoid.
Teams drafting toward the back end of the first round will be looking toward capitalizing on value and emerging with the best prospect possible at that juncture.
There isn't a great need for any club to move into the lottery if they're past the no. 20 on the board, especially because there isn't a consensus opinion about any draft eligible player.
MUST READ: Top 100 Celebrity Sports Fans
With that being said, here are three names to monitor closely on Thursday night.
1. Nikola Vucevic, C USC
Vucevic is rapidly rising up the big board for several teams, and at a legitimate seven feet and 260 lbs with range from downtown, it's easy to see why that's the case.
2. Charles Jenkins, SG Hofstra
Despite coming out of a small basketball school, Jenkins was a successful scorer in college and he's got a lot of Ben Gordon in him. His game should translate immediately at the NBA level.
3. Jeremy Tyler, C USA
Tyler famously dropped out of high school to pursue a professional career in Israel, but now that he's 6'10", 260 lbs and still just 20 years old, there are going to be a lot of interested teams in this big man of the future.
The center position is the weakest of any position in the class, so both Vucevic and Tyler are gambles that are definitely worth taking.
Kenny Britt should probably delete his Facebook account.
Social media is a great tool if it can be used correctly, but some professional athletes and notable names haven't exactly been the most responsible with their accounts.
We have seen Ray Allen claim his Twitter was hacked into when his account posted something meant for a woman that wasn't his wife, Soulja Boy claiming that a racist rant on his Facebook was courtesy of an intruder who wasn't him and even fellow Boston Celtic Paul Pierce claimed that he was hacked as well.
What does it all mean? I have no idea, but it's probably time that they either delete their accounts or stop sharing the password.

Britt's Facebook was updated to read that he was retiring from the NFL and expressed extreme displeasure with commissioner Roger Goodell, but the troubled wide receiver is claiming that it wasn't him.
It's tough to believe someone with multiple arrests, but The Tennessean caught up with Britt who offered an intriguing explanation.
“The Facebook posting as reported was not made by myself nor have I given any statements to anyone regarding this matter. It is not a defense but a fact that this Facebook page and associated email account were hacked and reported more than 120 days ago.”
It sure sounds like he's just trying to save himself from further embarrassment, but his latest fiasco is enough to land him back in hot water with the league.
Kim Kardashian wants the world to see her love.
We might not all be invited to the wedding, but everyone will be able to see exactly what's going on.
Is anyone surprised? The Kardashian's have long had an affinity toward providing a window into their personal lives, and Kim's about to prop it wide open.
After Kardashian announced that she and boyfriend Kris Humphries had plans to wed, it appears that the two lovebirds are moving fast to consummate those plans.
The latest update on the Kardashian-Humphries wedding comes from PopEater, and details the couple's plan to televise the wedding.
It will be a two-hour stand alone special," my source reveals. "[Kim] is so used to having cameras follow her that she doesn't even notice them any more. Kim really wants her fans to celebrate with her on the most important day of her life."
At least it won't be as long as the Royal Wedding, right?

It's not all that surprising that Kardashian has decided to televise her nuptials, but I'm guessing both Reggie Bush and Miles Austin are hoping that they'll be playing football by that point.
I can't wait to see what kind of television ratings this receives, as Kim's tying the knot effectively squashes several fantasies of men around the globe.
I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see the event do absolutely insane ratings given the aura surrounding the most notable Kardashian sister.
Let's just hope that the cameras can get a close up of how she looks in her wedding dress walking down the aisle.
I wonder how they're going to tailor the gown to fit her plus-sized backside.
Serena Williams knows how to celebrate a victory.
After a long time away from the game due to injury, Serena Williams really made her re-entrance to the grandest stage a successful one.
Williams won 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 in three sets before she broke down in tears over her apparent happiness that she had advanced to the next round.
As Newsday points out, Williams found herself in a familiar space after not knowing if she'd ever be able to return to the court.
She hit the winning shot, and then the moment hit Serena Williams. Sitting courtside, she cried and cried and cried. She was back where she wanted to be, defending her Wimbledon championships of the past two years. Back where she feared she might never be.

Williams faced an awful lot of uncertainty in the wake of her injury, but now it appears she's on the path to reclaiming her fame.
It was an unexpected outpouring of emotions for Williams, who doesn't normally express herself so emphatically on the court according to Richard Evans of Fox Sports.
"I didn't expect to have any emotions," she said. "But it was definitely so emotional for me because, you know, throughout the last 12 months I've been through a lot of things that you guys don't even know about. It's just been a long, arduous road. To stand up still is pretty awesome."
Awesome indeed, Serena. Good luck the rest of the way.
NBA Trade Rumors are beginning to get a little out of hand as we build up toward the 2011 NBA draft.
It's expected that NBA trade rumors crop up right around draft time every season, but it appears that 2011 has really set records for ludicrous rumors.
While there are certainly some potential deals that could very well come to fruition, there are others that just make absolutely no sense for either side.
It's dangerous to read too much into anything that's being said right now and take it as fact, so allow me to dispel you of some trade fallacies that are hovering around the league right now.

1. Andrew Bogut to the Minnesota T-Wolves: Beat writer Darren Wolfson told ESPN 1500 that the Bucks placed a call to the T-Wolves to gauge interest in Bogut, but Bucks GM John Hammond later denied those rumors and stated they had no validity.
2. Monta Ellis to the Philadelphia 76ers: Warriors GM Larry Riley told Zach Lowe that Ellis isn't going to be traded before the draft, or at any point in the summer. Let's put this one to bed now.
3. New York Knicks trading up for Jimmer Fredette: There was a report from ESPN's Chad Ford that this would be a possibility, but the Knicks don't have the assets to swing an attractive deal to land Fredette, who may go as high as no. 7 overall.
4. Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers: Just stop. At least for the time being. GM Otis Smith went on the record once again this week and said his team is not trading Superman.
5. Pau Gasol to the Minnesota T-Wolves: Eric Pincus really started something when he suggested a Gasol for Love swap, but Minnesota is refusing to include both Kevin Love and the no. 2 pick in a deal, so you can forget about that happening.
Let's see some rumors that actually have traction.

It's been a rough season for Portland center Greg Oden.
After Greg Oden once again found his season relegated to virtual obscurity because of injury, the bad news just continues to get worse.
Oden's agent recently said that his client may not be a lock to play when 2012 begins because of his ongoing knee woes, and it appears that TMZ didn't even know who he was on Monday night.
Portland Trailblazer Greg Oden's dream just came true -- because, really -- when is anyone ever going to confuse him with Miami Heat superstar LeBron James? Sorry, Greg ... and you're welcome.
When the most notoriety that you've received all summer comes because the media mistakes you for LeBron James, it's probably not a good thing.
But with all of the time that Oden has missed on the court recently, at least they knew that he was a basketball player.

It's going to be an interesting offseason for the former no. 1 overall selection, as he's going to have a tough time convincing an NBA team to take a gamble on him.
There's always a need for supremely talented big men in the league, so he'll undoubtedly get nibbles around the league.
The real question for Oden will be whether or not he can shed his "bust" label that he's received as a result of constant injury, but he definitely can't do it while sitting on the sidelines.
I guess it was easy to mistake Oden for LeBron, as they both look way older than they actually are.
Tate Forcier's string of bad luck was briefly interrupted.
It's been a pretty rough go of things for Tate Forcier recently, but when Elizabeth Wertenberger was crowned Miss Michigan, there was a brief ray of sunshine on his cloudy day.
According to Larry Brown Sports, Forcier may or may not still be dating Wertenberger. If Forcier is not still with her, he's really going to have a tough time getting over this one.
Tate Forcier’s recent run of negative news finally came to an end this weekend when his girlfriend (or former girlfriend), Elizabeth Wertenberger, was crowned Miss Michigan this weekend. Since last college football season, Forcier lost his starting quarterback job to Denard Robinson, fell to third on the Michigan depth chart, was academically ineligible for the team’s bowl game, transferred to Miami, decided not to go to Miami, and was hospitalized for a bizarre incident at an apartment building.
This guy really needs a pick-me-up, doesn't he?

If Forcier is still with Wertenberger, he has no reason to complain about anything off of the football field.
It's easy to see why she was crowned Miss Michigan, and I think she's even got the skills to challenge the newly crowned Miss USA.
I think it's safe to say that she stole the show with the swimsuit competition, judging by the picture here.
If she's single and on the market, Forcier is going to have a tough time realigning with his one-time girlfriend.
If he's still with Wertenberger, he better hold on to her for dear life.
Basketball Wives is the new Real World.
Since Basketball Wives clearly wasn't enough entertainment for the show's growing fanbase, there will now be a local version coming to a television screen near you.
The new cast for Basketball Wives Los Angeles was announced today, and Kimsha Artest will be among the headliners of the group according to People Magazine.
The cast includes Kimsha Artest, wife of Los Angeles Laker Ron Artest; Jackie Christie, wife of Doug Christie, former player for the Los Angeles Clippers; and Imani Showalter, ex-fiancée of Charlotte Bobcats' Stephen Jackson.
You mean to tell me that they couldn't convince Khloe Kardashian to give up her role on Keeping Up With the Kardashians in order to be a part of this masterpiece?

This local installment of the show is certain to bring in an even greater audience, and it looks like we'll be seeing some familiar faces from its predecessor.
Fans of the original series, which takes place in Miami, will recognize Gloria Govan, fiancée of Laker Matt Barnes. Gloria bitterly feuded with other cast members during season one, but this time her sister Laura Govan will be there for back up.
Maybe there will be a clash between the stars of the two series. If that happens, the cameras will certainly be rolling and it could actually turn into must-see TV.
If nothing else, it adds intrigue to a summer that could be quite quiet in the NBA ranks if the players are locked out by the owners.
The Boston Bruins know how to play like a champion.
For some reason, I can't help but think that all of the Bruins have seen Wedding Crashers more than once in their tenure on the team.
One of the most infamous lines of the movie is, "Rule No. 76: no excuses, play like a champion," is apparently the theme of the 2011 Stanley Cup champions.
After the Bruins took down the Vancouver Canucks in seven games to win it all, the team has been partying like the champions that they are.
MUST READ: Most Blinged Out Championship Rings
The Bruins were certainly poppin' champagne like they won a championship ring, as Lil' Wayne might say, and it looks like they popped until it stopped flowing.
In fact, the Bruins racked up an astounding bar tab of $156,000 at the casino while celebrating, and the visual evidence of that bill can be seen right here.
That's what happens when your team is among the toughest in the NHL, and it looks like Bud Light was the team's beer of choice for the evening, as they were able to put down 135 of 'em.
This club is truly comprised of champions.
You know that it's probably been a night to remember when your bar tab has over $7,000 added on to it in tax alone, but you know it's been a really good night when Zdeno Chara is hammering it down out of the Stanley Cup itself.
A job well done, men.
NFL Lockout: Labor negotiations to resume Tuesday, is season almost here?
As we approach the normal start date of the NFL, it appears that we may not too far away from resuming some much-needed football action in our lives.
Each side is set to resume in the negotiations on Tuesday morning, and both parties have stated that it is their intention to get a deal done.
I'll believe it when I see it.
We've been hearing the same malarkey for months on end, and until we see some substantial progress being reported, I have a hard time believing the negotiation sessions are doing anyone any sort of good.

The fans are also suffering from the work stoppage. In addition to all of the diehards that have lost touch with their teams, the lockout is beginning to take a toll on the economy as well, according to The Washington Post.
Consider that for the average city hosting an NFL team, a regular season accounts for the employment of about 3,739 people, according to an Edgeworth Economics report commissioned by the NFL Players Association. That’s 115,000 jobs across the entire country. Each community that hosts an NFL team would suffer a loss of approximately $160 million in economic activity, about $5 billion spread across the 31 communities that NFL teams call home.
That's a lot of cheddar, folks.
Should the NFL season resume on time, here are five things to look forward to:
1. Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: The real reason why Dallas is America's team.
2. Chad Ochocinco: It's been far too long since he's said something notable on Twitter.
3. Tom Brady's Hair: For the love of God, I hope Gisele makes him cut it.
4. Tiki Barber's Return: Could he really resume playing? And if so, can he hack it in PITTSBURGH?!
5. Raheem Morris: Mike Singletary won't be taking the podium anytime soon, and this guy needs his fix of a coach that tells it like it is.
Tatum O'Neal left nothing to the imagination in her new memoir, Found.
Tatum O'Neal has certainly had one very interesting life, and now she's finally telling her entire story.
O'Neal released her heavily anticipated memoir and it has been an instant hit with the public, even though it must have been tough to write for O'Neal.
It's a pretty incredible story, and the details of her journey through life really leave nothing to be imagined, as she paints an extraordinarily vivid picture into her struggles and triumphs over them.
Is it a coincidence that the release date of her book comes in the same week as her new show, Ryan & Tatum: The O'Neals is set to debut?
MUST READ: 20 Most Devastating Scandals in Sports History
I would imagine that John McEnroe probably isn't all that thrilled this morning, and I can virtually guarantee that he won't be watching his ex-wife's new show, either.
O'Neal's show debut could be even more interesting than Found, as the premise of the reality program is unlike any other currently out there. Here are the details from ABC News:
"Found" is also a father-daughter love story, documenting O'Neal's fragile reconciliation with her father, actor Ryan O'Neal, after 25 years of estrangement.
Needless to say, this is some heavy-hitting stuff that could leave the readers of the book and viewers of the show absolutely floored.
I might just be convinced to tune into the network debut of Ryan & Tatum, as it promises to be filled with loads of action and even more details from O'Neal's fascinating story.
Hopefully for both O'Neal and her father, this story has a happy ending.
