Sunderland Bid for Connor Wickham, but Starlet Wants Liverpool Move
Sunderland have made a £10 million bid for Ipswich sensation Connor Wickham, but the 18-year-old is reportedly bent on a move to Liverpool.
Steve Bruce has made the first bid for the young English striker, whose clubs rates him at £12 million, but Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool have all expressed interest in him in the past.
The Reds originally offered £6 million plus Jonjo Shelvey on loan, but Liverpool fans would probably prefer the owners simply up their bid because Shelvey showed a lot of promise in the midfield last season.
Kenny Dalglish is now reportedly willing to up his offer, and if he could sign Wickham, Liverpool would have a very formidable striking trio of Wickham, Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez, all under 25 years old.
