Liverpool FC is said to be close to signing Charlie Adam away from Blackpool, and Spanish sensation Juan Mata will reportedly begin listening to offers at the completion of the European u-21 Championships.

Kenny Dalglish has been chasing Adam since January when he was very close to signing for the Reds, and now, a £10 million bid has been offered and the two clubs are set to open talks.

Tottenham, Aston Villa and possibly even Manchester United are all still in the hunt for the 25-year-old Scot, however.

Meanwhile, Valencia looks set to lose another star playmaker in Juan Mata after selling David Villa (Barcelona) and David Silva (Manchester City) last summer.

Mata is a left winger with great pace and passing, and he knocks in plenty of goals as well.

Mata, 22, has been on Liverpool's radar ever since Rafa Benitez was in charge and is rated at £22 million. Manchester City is reportedly also in hunt.

Liverpool are reportedly looking to selling Portuguese midfielder Raul Meireles to make room for new players.
