Liverpool Transfer Rumours: Raul Meireles to Juventus for Felipe Melo?
Raul Meireles is a surprise name on the Liverpool transfer block this summer. A year after arriving at Liverpool and six months after he started being played in the right position, Meireles may be shipped out of Anfield.
The Portuguese midfielder was purchased by Roy Hodgson last summer for £10 million and was one of the now West Brom manager's few successes, though he was not a success until Kenny Dalglish took over.
Juventus are said to be interested but are hoping to ease Liverpool's price tag by offering Felipe Melo as part of the deal.
The Italian giants will reportedly offer £13.5 million and Melo for Meireles. Liverpool have already signed English youngster Jordan Henderson for £20 million and are close to signing Blackpool's Charlie Adam.
Melo isn't happy about his role in the transaction saying, "Let us say that Juve are not respecting me, or at least that's the impression I get."
Meireles became a fan favorite in the second half of last season thanks to a stretch when he scored four goals in five games including against Everton, the winner at Chelsea and an absolute screamer at Wolves that was voted by Liverpool fans as their goal of the season.
Meireles was also the PFA Fans' Player of the Year last season.
