On Wednesday night at eight o'clock, Liverpool entertain Portsmouth on home soil.

With the excitement of beating Chelsea on Sunday still fresh in the mind, there is a lot of talk around Anfield about not getting too carried away as the table leaders build up to the mid-week game.

Jamie Carragher has insisted that as Liverpool sit top of the table, they must not get caught up in the hysteria of the win at Stamford Bridge at the weekend; which saw the Reds move three points clear of their title rivals Chelsea.

Liverpool must now stay focused for the next game, and concentrate on winning another three points to strengthen their position as league leaders.

"We're not going to get too carried away—we're Liverpool," said Carragher. "Don't get me wrong, we're delighted with the win but we're not getting carried away at being top of the league after nine games.''

Portsmouth are currently in seventh place, only one point behind the champions Manchester United, who have a game in hand against Fulham to be played later on in the campaign.

Portsmouth take on the Premier League leaders at Anfield and it will be an interesting match to watch, as it is Liverpool's first game since moving in to the top position on Sunday.

What team will take home the three points available?

Will Liverpool remain the only team unbeaten this season?

Will a defeat to Portsmouth make the points Liverpool collected on Sunday worthless?

All questions will be answered on Wednesday night.
