The San Diego Chargers have brought back Hall of Fame receiver Charlie Joiner, the franchise's career receiving leader, to replace the fired James Lofton as receivers coach. This is Joiner's second stint as receivers coach in San Diego; he coached the position from 1987 to 1991 after retiring.

Commentary: Not sure this is a great trade. Joiner was in Kansas City the past seven years, and the Chiefs—like the Chargers—never got much out of their receivers. The Chargers actually have some skill at the position now, with Chris Chambers and Vincent Jackson.

Fantasy Football Impact: Chambers could be a solid No. 2 fantasy receiver next season—if Philip Rivers recovers in time to get some practice with Chambers before the season starts. And Jackson had a nice postseason after a disappointing regular season, so maybe he gets back on the radar in 2008.
