Wimbledon 2011 Results: Tamira Paszek Upsets Francesca Schiavone in Marathon
Unseeded Tamira Paszek Survives Third-Round Marathon-Match at Wimbledon 2011
While it didn't quite go the distance that John Isner and Nicolas Mahut in 2010, Tamira Paszek and Francesca Schiavone completed a match that went nearly four hours.
Paszek was victorious, as she upset the No. 6 seed on the strength of an 11-9 third set. The final set lasted more than two hours.
Shiavone won the first set 6-3, but Paszek evened the match with a 6-4 second set win, setting up the marathon third set.
Next for Paszek is a fourth round match against Ksenia Pervak a match that will be a battle of unseeded long shots.
Pervak defeated No. 11 Andrea Petkovic to advance to the fourth round.
