We are only five days away from the 2011 NBA Draft

Whether you are a fan or not, the 2011 NBA draft has crept up on us. The energy and passion of the finals tended to take up more of the NBA hype, but now it's time for the draft. While there has been some good analysis of recent draft classes, I feel that the breakdowns this year has been lacking. Many have said that this year's class is extremely weak.

I do not necessarily buy into the fact that this is a weak class. Go back, take a look at the 2000 draft class and then tell me that this class is not as talented. Whether fans agree with me or not, I feel like there is some ideal "superstar" potential in this class. There might not be a Derrick Rose, LeBron James or Dwight Howard, but some of these players have legit talent.

The problem that surrounds scouts is trying to measure the ceiling on these players. Teams don't always draft on the fact that players can fit in their systems right away. Scouts must try to project how good a player will be in three to five years. Sometimes, it isn't necessary to outthink the crowd.

This year, several players have the talent to play immediately. Teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Utah Jazz and others will benefit from that. Some players have bust written all over them, which will make scouting departments work hard into the night. The rest of the players have gigantic question marks surrounding them. Certain players will prove to be gems, while others will flame out after a few seasons.

These are the questions that burn inside fan's minds. Which player fits in a team's system? Can players take their games to the next level? Do they have the mentality to be a champion?

Answers will start to come to fruition on June 23rd.

Stay tuned for more updates on the NBA Draft and its prospects throughout the day
