NBA Draft 2011: Will Utah Jazz Nab Brandon Knight at No. 3 Overall?
While it Seems to be Common Knowledge that Brandon Knight is Going to Utah, It Might Not Be That Easy During the 2011 NBA Drat
The Utah Jazz have options going into next week's draft. Everywhere you look, it seems that Brandon Knight is going to be the third player chosen in the draft. That would be great for Utah. Derron Williams just got traded and the team needs to replace him as soon as possible.
Knight is a wonderful young player. Throughout his entire freshman year he took, and made, all the big shots. Knight was the reason Kentucky played in the Final Four. He is great in the open floor, remarkably smart, and has the leadership skills for the position. But, is there a scenario in which Knight doesn't go to Utah?
If Derrick Williams magically slides past the number two pick, I feel that Utah would draft him over Knight. Williams has too much talent to be ignored, especially if he is there when the Jazz are on the clock. Williams would give the Jazz a huge scoring option and the team can live with Devin Harris running the point.
Harris also may allow the team to take a long look at Enes Kanter with their choice. Kanter has many questions and hasn't played in a year, but he does have the inside potential to be a great scorer. Should the Jazz take Kanter, I wouldn't blame them. Having Harris allows Utah the luxury of looking at other players closely.
The first two picks are close to being locks. Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams will be the top two choices. The draft really shakes up after those picks. Regardless, if you think Utah is taking Knight, it can't be overlooked that the Jazz may make their move on someone else.
