Former TUF Winner Kendall Grove Released by UFC

Following his loss to Tim Boetsch at UFC 130, Kendall Grove has been cut by the UFC.

The news was broken by MMA Frenzy after Grove announced the release through his Facebook page.

Grove has now lost four of his last six fights. His last four wins have come against fighters who are no longer in the UFC.

Grove is the third winner of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) to have been released from the UFC, but he is possibly the first to be cut based solely on performance. The other two TUF winners who have been released, Travis Lutter and Efrain Escudero, both failed to make weight for important fights, which has long been a pet peeve of UFC President Dana White.

The next step in Grove's career has not yet been determined. However, Strikeforce, which was recently purchased by the UFC's parent company, could be a potential home for Grove.
