With the 2011 NBA season behind us, the Dallas Mavericks’ championship parade in the past and the 2011 NBA Draft right around the corner, it’s now a great time to turn an eye toward the offseason and the many moves teams will make in order to compete next year in the National Basketball Association.

Free agency is one way in which teams will look to add pieces to their roster, but this year’s class is much less desirable overall than last years which was lead by LeBron's “Decision.”

Dallas Mavericks’ Tyson Chandler and Caron Butler are two of the top free agents, and the former should certainly be looking to cash in on a nice payday based on an outstanding playoff performance.

Jamal Crawford will also be available. His contract with the Atlanta Hawks is at a completion, and teams looking for a gunning 2-guard will be highly interested in him.

Other key pieces to be found in free agency this summer are Michael Redd, Carl Landry, Shane Battier, Andre Kirilenko and Yao Ming.

While none of those names are franchise players at this point in their careers, they could certainly help push a contender to the next level in the proper role.

The 2011 NBA draft is only a few short days away, and teams are also looking to get trades done in order to round out their rosters before the impending lockout kicks in.

Andre Iguodala has been generating a ton of phone calls to Ed Stefanski, who is apparently sitting back and waiting to exhaust all options before pulling the trigger and moving his All-Star swingman.

The Blazers are making noise about moving Andre Miller, a sizeable veteran point guard who has a non-guaranteed contract that some teams are interested in. He is a potential starter on any squad in the league and could add a veteran presence to a younger locker room if the party that gets him could use it.

Other players believed to be on the block include Utah’s Al Jefferson, Golden State’s Monte Ellis and Cleveland’s J.J. Hickson.

We will be covering all of the latest and breaking trade news and free-agent rumors across the NBA throughout the day right here, so stay tuned.
