Wimbledon 2011: What the Weather Forecast Looks Like for SW19

Unlike many of the Bleacher Report writers, I'm British, based in London, a few miles from the All-England Tennis Club where Wimbledon begins tomorrow. Thus, I'm ideally placed (both literally and metaphorically) to tell you what the weather forecast is looking like for the fortnight.
Of course, Wimbledon is notorious for its rain delays, because the British summertime basically consists of three days of boiling sunshine and then weeks and weeks of torrential rain. So will we get two weeks of uninterrupted tennis?

No such luck for Andy Roddick, though. He's taking on Karol Beck in the last game on Court No 1 tomorrow, and by the time these gentlemen get on court (after one ladies' singles match and one men's singles) it'll probably be getting on for 4pm, when the heavens are predicted to open. Expect delays and frantic re-scheduling.

Venus Williams is first out on Court No 2 on Monday against Akgul Amanmuradova, and they should make it through uninterrupted, albeit with some cloud cover. It's expected to be warmish, though, and rather humid, which might make it rather unpleasant for players and spectators alike. Far better to watch it on the television, that's what I say.

Today in London has been dry - the first day in weeks where we haven't had either a downpour or a thunderstorm or both. The players have been happily training, and giving their pre-tournament press conferences, and everyone's raring to go.
Well, Rafael Nadal certainly is. He's facing Michael Russell in the first round on Centre Court, and whether it's tipping down with rain or not, that means there'll be no interruptions because of the now-famous retractable roof available to that show court.
