New York Knicks Think Defense in 2011 NBA Mock Draft By Picking Kenneth Faried at No. 17

Not many people are familiar with the leading rebounder in college from a year ago because he went to Morehead State.

But don’t be mistaken…Kenneth Faried is ready to contribute in the NBA right away.

His hands are enormous and his relentless motor around the basket is tops in the draft. Faried is undersized for a power forward at 6-8, but makes up for it with a 225-pound bulky frame. He is one of the best athletes in the draft and could instantly give the Knicks some much-needed passion on defense.

With guys like Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire showing little interest on that side of the ball, Faried would be a welcome addition.

Offensively he has a long way to go because of a flat jumper and not much touch around the rim…. but that’s why they have ‘Melo and Amare. Faried can focus on the defensive end and can bring some much-needed toughness to the Knicks.

Don’t be hypnotized by the glitz and glam of Jimmer Knicks fans…go with the guy that can help your team the most.
