Rising American Tennis Star Bethanie Mattek-Sands to Make Splash at Wimbledon

With no American women seeded in the French Open, it was one of the most disappointing times in women’s professional tennis, but things are changing fast.

Along with Serena and Venus Williams, young star Bethanie Mattek-Sands is bringing a whole new mentality to the field, and along with the William’s sisters, it may be a field dominated by American women.

Mattek-Sands has charisma for days, and her wild outfits are more like Lady Gaga than anything else. If the Williams sisters would collaborate with Mattek-Sands in the media, the American women in the tennis world would rule the roost for another decade.

To go with her wild outfits, Mattek-Sands has the right attitude to be one of the faces of American women’ tennis.

Mattek-Sands told the USA Today:

It was a goal for this year to be seeded by the French Open, but this is close enough.  That being said, it isn't where I stop. I want to be a top-10 player and then be a contender, someone who gets those titles.

With the Williams sisters struggling to stay healthy, it was a matter of time before a young, American star rose to the occasion and took the reins. With her wild outfits and flamboyant style, Mattek-Sands could be the perfect recipe for a whole new breed of tennis stars and fans.

The biggest question that has to be answered is whether or not she can backup her charisma with victories like the Williams sisters have done for years. If she becomes a winner, Mattek-Sands will become a big part of the American view of tennis.
