WWE Capitol Punishment 2011: Live Results and Reactions

Joe Burgett Senior Writer IIIJanuary 14, 2017

WWE's newest PPV, Capital Punishment, is upon us, and it sure is full of some intriguing matchups, several of which I never saw coming.

R-Truth vs. John Cena and Alex Riley vs. The Miz? Really?!

Then we have the World Heavyweight Title match involving Christian and Randy Orton. But will it even happen? Orton is said to have a legit concussion, and he is reportedly a "game-time" decision.

Speculation has it that it'll either be a short match or a third party will make their way into the match. All signs point to a triple-threat gig involving Sheamus. That way, the Celtic Warrior and Captain Charisma could do the bulk of the wrestling while Orton is out of the ring. Then at the end, Orton could come in for the win.

Now this is speculation, of course. With Orton's concussion being mild, he still does have to pass the impact test to even be allowed to perform, according to WWE's Wellness Policy.

Either way, Orton will still be performing in the title match. But will it be in a big fashion? That is yet to be determined.

The Capital Punishment PPV is said to have a lot of press and backing by WWE and I expect many Washington celebs to be at the arena on Sunday. See if you can spot any.

In any case, sit back and enjoy as we at Bleacher Report live blog Capitol Punishment, WWE's latest and greatest new Pay-Per-View event.
