After JT O'Sulivan's performance for seven-and-a-half games this season, the 49ers finally have a quarterback they can trust. O'Sullivan made his 17th turnover of the season Sunday at the end of the second quarter. This needs repeating: 17th turnover.

The team has 20 turnovers total, and O'Sullivan is responsible for 17 of them. Breaking it down, he has seven fumbles lost and 10 interceptions. Seventeen turnovers in a season is considered the bare minimum for success. O'Sullivan managed to do so after half a season's worth of play.

With interim coach Mike Singletary now running the show, he pulled O'Sullivan and inserted the lovable Shaun Hill. Hill went on to throw for 173 yards and a touchdown, but, most importantly, committe no turnovers.

Last season when Hill took over for the injured Trent Dilfer, he had one interception against five touchdowns. While he may not be like David Garrard was last season, he still protects the ball well and keeps the offense on the field.

He is not a lifesaver and probably will not save the 49ers' season. Remember, he, too, is a traveling quarterback who has been given a shot by the 49ers. So expect some rough times still, but I feel much more confident in the 49ers and the offense with Hill under center.
