DeShawn Stevenson: Less Than Classy Move as Stevenson Arrested in Dallas Area
Less Than Classy Move as Dallas Mavericks’ DeShawn Stevenson Arrested in Dallas Area
Dallas Mavericks’ guard DeShawn Stevenson was reportedly arrested last night in the Dallas area for public intoxication just days after his team won the NBA Finals.
According to reports, police were called to the Grand Venetian apartment complex in Irving County to check on a report of an intoxicated person in the area. Officers reported that Stevenson, who does not live at that apartment complex, appeared intoxicated.
Stevenson was released from jail Wednesday morning, and there are still many questions to be answered about disciplinary actions form the NBA or the Dallas mavericks.
Irving County public information officer John Argumaniz said told ESPN Dallas:
They [police] felt he was a danger to himself and others. Basically, he was intoxicated to a point where he didn't feel comfortable letting him walk away or leave. They didn't have any other options at that point.
This is amazing because it comes just days after Stevenson called the Miami Heat players classless and then wore a shirt with provocative undertones.
Judging from Stevenson’s demeanor on the court and his apparent rough lifestyle, he might not be the best person to talk about having class. Isn’t that right Abraham Lincoln Tattoo on Stevenson’s throat?
The big question has to be whether or not the Mavericks punish Stevenson by not allowing him to partake in the parade, or if they do the right thing and just fine him. Dallas should let him in the parade and punish him later.
