WWE Capitol Punishment: Breaking Down the United States Championship Match

In less than one week, we will see current United States Champion Kofi Kingston defend his title against Dolph Ziggler.

Both Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler are two guys that seem to be stuck in the mid card.  Kofi was getting a push in late 2009, but that was stopped, and Dolph Ziggler was seemingly getting a push in early 2011, but once he was moved to Raw, it was all downhill.

That said, all hope is not lost for these two superstars, as they are still quite young, and this match, the match that may open Capitol Punishment, may be the match that main events WrestleMania 33.  Hey, it can happen.

Both Dolph and Kofi have proven that they can hold their own in the ring, so this may end up being one of the best United States Championship matches we've seen in a while.

It's always hard to predict the outcome of a mid card match in WWE because they throw the belts around like props.  One week one guy has it, and by the next week, it has somehow managed to change hands three times and lose another chunk of prestige.  It's like Vince Russo is in charge of booking the mid card in WWE.

Despite it being difficult to call, I am going to say Kofi Kingston wins this.  The way they have been writing this feud, it seems to favor Kingston.  That combined with the fact that WWE is showing no signs of ever pushing Kingston, whereas Ziggler seems to have a shot at getting another push by the end of this year.

As always, post a comment below with your thoughts on the US Title match at Capitol Punishment.
