2011 NBA Mock Draft: LA Lakers Looking to Trade Up?
2011 NBA Mock Draft Could Find LA Lakers To First Round
The LA Lakers have four second round picks. They got lucky last year in finding Devin Ebanks and Derrick Caracter who were great value for where they were selected. With so many players on the roster already though, the Lakers don't have room to keep four players even if they do find four gems.
Los Angeles' best bet is to package multiple, if not all of, their four second round picks and move up into the back of the first round. The Boston Celtics are reportedly trying to trade away the 25th overall pick and the Chicago Bulls have two picks in the back of the first.

The Lakers are in desperate need for a point guard and there are a few solid ones in the back of the first round.
Combo guard Reggie Jackson out of Boston college is projected to go late first round. He has good range from the outside. The Lakers are really missing a three-point shooting threat.
Three point guards who are borderline first round picks are Hofstra's Charles Jenkins, Michigan's Darius Morris, and Duke's Nolan Smith.
Jenkins and Smith are both combo guards as well. Each can stroke it from the outside. They both averaged over 20 points a game their final year's in college.
Darius Morris is the lone pure point guard of the group. He's not a great outside shooter like Jackson, Jenkins, or Smith, but he's the best passer out of the four and has a nice mid-range game.
Don't be surprised if the Lakers trade up for one of these guards on draft day.
