The Dallas Mavericks won the 2011 NBA Finals on Sunday night over the Miami Heat.  Dirk Nowitzki won Finals MVP, winning his first ring ever and preventing LeBron James and Chris Bosh from taking home their first.

Along with Dwyane Wade, The Big Three may have shown promise by going all the way to the championship in their first year of existence, but it was an utter failure because when you guarantee eight titles, every season is a must-win.

Three more Mavs who have been waiting a long time for their first title are future Hall of Famer Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, who gets to keep his tattoo of the Larry O'Brien trophy, and owner Mark Cuban, who was able to avoid being a distraction in the media during the playoffs.

Congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks and head coach Rick Carlisle for the franchise's long-awaited first NBA championship.

Stay tuned throughout the day for more on Monday's top stories.
