Broncos Suffering Defense

After without a doubt one of our worst defensive performances of the season verses the Patriots on Monday night, a bye week is just what we need to try to figure out where our defence has been all season. Now even though we sit atop our conference with 4-3 record, none of our wins have been that impressive. With the 2nd worst defense ranking in the NFL, the broncos will try and end a 2 game losing streak at home Sept. 2 with the dolphins. With Champ Bailey, one of the leagues best corners, out with a groin injury Rookie Jack Williams is expected to start along with Dre Blyfor the Dolphins game. This is a big loss for the Broncos with Champ out but with the bye week a head it should give Williams a little extra time to prepare for a not so hot Dolphins team. When Champ has been in the line up almost no quarterback has challenged him in the air, but with the 8 time pro bowler out and the not so experienced rookie in the line-up things might not be so pretty. Along with Champ being out for 4-6 weeks, his brother Boss was also injured during the Pats game with a knee injury that will require micro-fracture surgery and he'll be out for the rest of the season. Back up linebacker Jamie Winborn will most likely take his place for the rest of the season. Both of these injuries will hurt the broncos big time, but hopefully we will get things worked out during the bye week and be ready for the Dolphins on the 2nd.
