Real Madrid Transfer News: Canales' Impatience Shows Lack of Heart

In sports, young players believe they should have the world handed to them.
Sergio Canales is no exception.
Canales, who signed with Real Madrid when he was a starlet, has had his fair share of trials and tribulations during his time with Los Blancos. Canales has fallen out of favor with Jose Mourinho, and as a result, he is pondering a move elsewhere.
Instead of earning his playing time, like the world's best players, Canales wants to go to a club where they will nurture his talents.
Per Goal.com:
The 20-year-old has struggled to secure regular first team football at Madrid since joining from Racing Santander in 2010, and could well be on his way out of the Copa del Rey winners again in this transfer window.
Canales has been linked with clubs such as Aston Villa, Everton, Queens Park Rangers and Roma, but La Liga outfits Valencia and Villarreal seem to have a better chance of luring the Spain under-20 starlet away from the capital.
"I want to get as much playing time as possible. If that's not possible at Real Madrid, it'll be at another club. I prefer to stay in Spain for now, though," Canales was quoted as saying by AS.
Maybe if Canales trained harder and fought for his position, he would be a better player for it.
Instead, the player has decided that it would be much easier to leave Los Blancos and go somewhere else, a move that will set him back in the long run.
Few clubs can offer the potential of Real Madrid, and he wants to throw it all away.
Canales may have struggled, but if he applies himself, and trains hard against the top talent in the world, he will become a better player.
Playing time should be earned, and the only way to improve is through hard work, and Canales would rather take the easy way out than force his way into the starting 11 on the practice pitch.
It is rather unfortunate that it has gotten to this point, and Canales knows that he won't get playing time this way. The player wants a move, and will eventually ask for one, in an effort to force Real Madrid's hand.
Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how the club responds.
If I'm Los Blancos, I force him to prove himself on the practice pitch. If he fails doesn't, it will cripple his stock as a player and limit his future destinations.
For now, it's clear Canales' heart doesn't have the competitive fire needed to be a truly great player, and this situation should serve as a giant red flag for other clubs.
