Barcelona Transfer News: Udinese's Comments on Sanchez Put Barca Future in Doubt

Udinese is not happy.
When you have a player of the caliber of Alexis Sanchez, your hope as a club is that other teams will bid large sums of money so you can go about the business of patching the hole left by such an important player.
Those hopes rise when a club like Barcelona comes along, a side with deep pockets that can throw money around with the best of them when they have a prized target.
That was their hope. The reality of the situation is much different.
Barcelona is the only contender for Sanchez's services after he declared he wanted to play for the European champions, and they have tried to take full advantage of that.
Per Goal.com:
"The deal with Barcelona is still far from being concluded as the economic conditions to close the transfer do not exist," Pozzo said, according to La Repubblica.
And it appears the Chile international's desire to complete a dream move to the Spanish champions is the glue holding talks together.
"The only thing that is keeping this up is that Sanchez, obviously, has his reasons to move and join Barcelona," added Pozzo.
"But, there is nothing concrete now, and we are still very far [from agreeing a deal]."
By economic conditions he means that Barcelona simply hasn't put up as much money as Udinese wants for their star player.
Surprise, surprise.
Barca has done this same thing with the Cesc Fabregas negotiations, and now they're doing it with Sanchez.
The club feels like if they consistently underbid, and are the only legitimate contender for a player's services, than it feels the other s quad will just fork their player over on a bargain.
That isn't how football works.
If you want top talent, you have to pay top dollar, and Udinese is right to stick to their guns.
They need this money to move on from Sanchez, and Barcelona's tactics are slowing down what should have been a done deal.
Eventually, the two sides will agree on a fee to send Sanchez to Barca, but it won't be before there are a few extra dollars on the table.
