Heat vs. Mavs Game 5 Prediction: Can Dirk and the Mavs Put Heat on the Brink?

After successfully predicting Game’s 2 and 4 (both Mavs wins), I have to say I am feeling quite good about Game 5.

Prediction: Dallas 89 Miami 87

Why: I like the Mavericks to win in another close one of course.

After all Dallas is at home, which favors the Mavericks without question.

I also think that it’s too hard to win two road games in the NBA Finals unless it’s a clean sweep.

A loss tonight does not guarantee Dallas the Larry O’Brien Trophy, nor does it eliminate the Heat from going back home for a Game 6; I’m still leaning towards the Heat to win the series.

Dirk will be great for Dallas like he has all postseason, and LeBron will be much better than he was in Game 4 (how’s that for a bold prediction?).

But in a game that both teams deserve to win, the Mavs get the last punch and take a 3-2 series lead back to South Beach with two chances to close out the Heat.
