Ray-Tastic! Tampa Goes to World Series
For the first time in franchise history the Tampa Bay Rays advance to the World Series after they dethroned the World Champion Boston Red Sox 3-1 in game seven of the American League Championship Series.The team that finished with the worst record in the 2007 season are now American League Champions and will face the N.L. Champion Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series.
After blowing a 3-1 lead in the series and a 7-0 lead in game five at
Fenway, the Rays, down 1-0 early, rallied to clinch the pennant and all the fans including Dick Vitale rejoiced in St. Pete and Tampa as David Price came in to retire the final batters for Boston.On Wednesday, the Rays will host the Phillies in the first game of the World Series. The game will be broadcast on Fox at 8 p.m. live from the Trop.
