New York Yankees Waiting on the Milwaukee Brewers?

The Yankees are reportedly interested in Brewers outfielder Mike Cameron, who is currently waiting to see whether or not the Brewers pick up his 10 million dollar option. According to the NY Post citing industry sources, the Yankees are waiting to see if the Brewers pick up his option because they think he is an upgrade over Johnny Damon and Melky Cabrera.
Damon had a solid season for the Yankees and is a lefty, so it is possible they would trade him and pursue a better option, or platoon between Gardner and Cabrera. The Cubs and Mariners are possible destinations for Damon.
The Yankees are reportedly targeting Mark Teixeira, CC Sabathia, and Derek Lowe, so adding Mike Cameron will only increase their payroll.
