WWE star CM Punk has become famous over the last few weeks because of the now epic shoot promo that he laid out on RAW.

During Punk’s shoot on his contract situation and the WWE hierarchy, he mentioned leaving WWE and heading back to his former promotion Ring of Honor.

While it has become obvious that WWE will do whatever it takes to keep Punk with the company, a move to ROH would be the best move for the wrestling business.

It wouldn’t be the best move for Punk because he would give up a ton of money, but the impact it would have on fans following him to ROH would resemble the move of Howard Stern to satellite radio.

The biggest gripe with this idea is the lack of talent that ROH has compared to what he will work with in WWE. With stars like Colt Cabana, Chris Hero, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, there are a core of great wrestlers, and even more that could jump back.

TNA Impact wrestling employees a heavy stable of stars that worked ROH in the past, and many would be happy to make their return back to a federation that pushes quality wrestling over experience.

It looks more and more like the WWE will do whatever it takes to get Punk signed long term, but he does not sign again, Punk needs to get in with ROH ownership and use that to help build the new brand.

The wrestling world really needs a new direction and a savior, so if CM Punk wants to start a revolution of a real new breed of wrestling, he has all the power in the world to do it.
