The Rangers have waived Patrick Rissmiller. Good riddance. Now that they’ve begun the process of getting rid of the excess forwards is this a precursor to Shanahan being signed?. It’s pure speculation but I think the Rangers are going to move one more forward, possibly Dan Fritsche, Petr Prucha or Freddy Sjostrom and then either make a trade for a goal scoring winger or sign Brendan Shanahan. I dont think the Rangers are going to trade for Gaborik, the price is too steep, hes injury prone and they most likely wont be able to re-sign him nor do I think they would want to at the end of the season. With nothing else on the trade market in the form of a scoring winger, Shanny seems to be the only option. My opinion on Shanny returning this season is well known on this blog. I think he can still play and can be a valuable asset on this team as long as he isnt the primary scoring threat on the team (which he wouldnt be). I wonder what Glenn Sathers doing up there..
