In a recent video released on Jaco Clothing’s Youtube channel, we get a behind the scenes look at Kenny Florian’s training ritual and what he’s doing to make the cut from lightweight to featherweight for his upcoming fight with Diego Nunes at UFC 131: Dos Santos vs. Carwin.
In this segment, Florian is shown doing plyometric training and sled pushing as he incorporates a low-calorie diet, being careful not to add much muscle mass in order to cut weight.
“Pretty much the only thought on my mind throughout the day is my next meal. Even after I’m done eating, I’m like, ‘When can I eat next?’” said Florian.
According to Florian’s strength and conditioning coach Mike Boyle, they have been “scaling back in the weight room” and focusing on circuit training, finishing up with strength and conditioning on the stationary bike.
With all of the hard work Florian has been putting in for this fight, we can expect to see the best Kenny Florian yet, but he most certainly has a challenge in front of him with Nunes, who boasts 16 wins with only one loss on his professional record.
