Game 3 was hardly five minutes old before Vancouver defensemen Aaron Rome was given a major penalty and a game misconduct for a late hit on Boston's Nathan Horton.

Horton had just dished the puck to fellow forward Milan Lucic before Rome stepped up at the blueline and delivered a hit that sent Horton crashing to the ice. The referees then assessed Rome a major penalty for interference and ejected him.

While the game was put on hold for several minutes following the hit, it has been reported by NHL.com that Horton is moving all of his extremities.

He has been sent to Massachusetts General Hospital to undergo a checkup.

The play and hit can be viewed here.
