2011 MLB Draft Grades: Rockies Write Trevor Story at No. 45, Will He Fit in CO?
Trevor Story, SS, Irving (Texas) HS
Trevor Story is another one of the top prep shortstops in the draft. Story, from Irving High School in Texas, is committed to play next year for LSU.
Indications though are that he will sign and begin his professional career.
Story’s defense is what sets him apart from other prospects at shortstop. He has good range and instincts at the position and an above average arm. His throws have been recorded as high as 96 MPH.
With a bat he is also an above-average player with good power and average speed.
He is a hard worker that will put in the work to succeed at the next level.
