The Cubs Might Be the First Team to Play at "The House That Ruth (Didn't) Built"

Craig NuzzoCorrespondent IMarch 23, 2017

Besides GM Jim Hendry and starting pitcher Rich Harden extending their stay with the North Siders, the offseason hasn't been too exciting. Then again, it's still early. I guess I'm just eager to watch Cubs baseball again.

The last time the Chicago Cubs played the New York Yankees was on June 19, 2005 in "The House that Ruth Built."

Chicago did something all Cub fans are pretty use to at this point, they lost 6-3.

Prior to that, the Yankees played at Wrigley Field in 1939.

According to the Associated Press, The Cubs may have a chance to make history with the Yankees next year in April.

The Cubs may have the opportunity to play the first baseball game ever at the new Yankee Stadium.

Lou Pinella would appreciate the invitation.

Pinella played with the Yankees from 1974 to 1984 and managed the team from 1986 to 1988. I think he would enjoy christening the new ballpark of his former team.

I would watch it.
