Tiger Woods: Will Tiger Improve His No. 15 Ranking with U.S. Open Performance?
Will Tiger Woods Win the US Open Despite Being Hurt?
Tiger Woods has a banged up knee, a sore Achilles tendon, and continues to walk on crutches. His health is improving, but the golfer is certainly not 100 percent.
The newest golf rankings came out and once again Tiger dropped. Tiger is now ranked No. 15 in the world. It has been years since he won any tournament, and the last time he played he called it quits because on an injury.
The US Open is in a few weeks and one has to wonder if Woods can really contend.
Tiger has won a major before while playing hurt. Granted, he is older now and a lot more banged up this time around.
He is still up in the air as to whether or not he will play in the US Open. I think he will because he doesn't want to pass up the chance to win a major.
If he is able to play through the whole weekend then yes he can certainly improve upon his No. 15 world ranking. However, that's a big if at the moment.
One thing Tiger must consider before playing at the US Open is how will this affect him in the long run?
At the age of 35, Woods could easily take a year off to full heal himself of any and all injuries. Golf is a sport where age doesn't matter a ton. Tiger could take time off and then come back and be dominant once again.
In the end, I believe Tiger will think about the present over the future. He wants to win so bad that he will fight through the pain to play in the US Open.
