Ron Artest: Lakers Forward Trying His Hand at Reality Television
Ron Artest is Looking to Do Good Things on Reality TV
Normally athletes exploit themselves and their lives for money on reality television. Ron Artest is thankfully going a different route.
Some, hopefully most, of you are tired of seeing what athletes or their wives are doing. I for one could care less about the love life of a professional athlete, nor do I care to see what the families of a professional athlete are up to.
According to TMZ, Artest isn't doing a meaningless reality television show, but rather a positive one. Artest's show will be called "Last Second Shot", and it features Artest and others mentoring a group of young parolees.
Time and time again we see stupid shows on television. Some feature athletes, and others turn people into stars that really shouldn't ever be famous.
I commend Artest for being apart of this show. Artest knows what its like to get a second chance, and he is trying to help young guys turn their lives around.
The show hasn't been picked up by a network yet, but with Artest on board it shouldn't be long before that happens. When it does air this will do wonders for Artest's image.
So here's a big thank you to Ron Artest for not selling out and doing a pointless reality show on his day-to-day life.
