For those who love sports, it’s a pretty packed Sunday, my friends.
First and foremost (mostly because this action is first), the world has been given another uber-entertaining Federer vs. Nadal matchup, and after starting with his typical herculean effort, Federer is down 2-0 and tied in the third set.
Honestly, Federer has played great aside from being broken four times in the first two sets—Nadal is just playing at an unbelievably high level.
After a short rain delay, Federer took two straight games to go up 6-5 before Nadal took back the momentum, forced a tiebreak and took the second set.
In the NBA realm, it’s Game 3 of the 2011 NBA Finals.
After Dirk Nowitzki scored the Mavericks’ last five points to give them the win over the Miami Heat in Game 2, the series got serious. Quite a few folks had figured this aging Mavericks team was overmatched against a superstar-laden Heat squad (myself included), but Dirk and Jason Kidd are heading back to Dallas with the energy swing in their favor.
Also, ESPN’s Tim McMahon quotes Dirk: “The finger is really good...Once the adrenaline always starts flowing during the game, I think I’m OK. It doesn’t bother me during the game. That’s the major thing.”
In other news, Kyle Busch was punched in the face by 65-year-old car owner Richard Childress. I had to keep that sentence short and sweet. The incident occurred after Busch gave Joey Coulter a little love tap during the cool-down lap.
Stick around for more news throughout the day!
