The Boston Bruins will look to even the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals at one game apiece Saturday night with a win in Game 2 against the Vancouver Canucks.
After being beaten in the final seconds of Game 1, the Bruins shouldn't be too worried about their Game 2 chances.
Bruins goalie Tim Thomas was fantastic, their penalty kill was awesome, and even the power play showed signs of life.
But Vancouver will play better too, and Boston must continue to play the good defense that got them to this point.
Will Boston even the series, or will Vancouver take the series to Boston with a 2-0 lead?

2011 Stanley Cup Finals: Alex Burrows Not Suspended for Bergeron Bite
The NHL decided Thursday to not suspend Vancouver Canucks forward Alex Burrows for biting Patrice Bergeron during an altercation between the two at the end of the first period in Game 1.
Video from NBC's telecast shows Burrows clearly bit Bergeron, and Bergeron showed his bloodied finger to teammate Mark Recchi afterwards on the way to the bench, this was also caught on NBC.
Despite biting Bergeron, the NHL ruled it wasn't intentional. How can you bite someone unintentionally?
In any event, Burrows will play Saturday night in Game 2.

2011 Stanley Cup Finals: Milan Lucic needs to play better for Boston in Game 2
Milan Lucic has struggled to find the goal scoring form he displayed during the regular season when he scored 30 goals for the Bruins.
Lucic has had some decent games this postseason but they have been few and far between.
Playing in his hometown of Vancouver, Lucic may be under increased pressure to succeed despite playing very well during the Bruins’ only meeting in Vancouver this season, a 3-1 Boston win.
Bruins coach Claude Julien was asked by the media between Games 1 and 2 if he needed more from Lucic in Game 2, and he said the following in an interview from the NHL.
“I think we need more out of everybody. Again, we talked about last game. If we plan on winning tomorrow, that's something that we're going to need more out of everybody.”
“Milan is also capable of that. When he hits his stride, he's on top of his game, his skating is good, his presence is good, and even his scoring chances are there. Certainly he's a big part of our hockey club. You rely on those guys to be as good as they can be.”
Julien also spoke about possible hometown distractions for Milan in the same interview.
“I think it's a give-and-take. You have to understand that he's in his hometown. Certainly you want to please those people to a certain extent, but at the same time you don't want it to be a detriment to his preparation and rest and everything else.”
“Our media guys have done a pretty good job of balancing that out. He does a little bit of both: get the rest that he needs and does as much as he can to please the people from around here.”

2011 Stanley Cup Finals: Bruins Coach Claude Julien Talks About Tyler Seguin
Boston Bruins Claude Julien has often been criticized this season for not playing Tyler Seguin many minutes in his rookie season.
Seguin was also a healthy scratch during the first two rounds of the 2011 NHL playoffs versus the Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers.
Julien talked about Seguin to the media between Games 1 and 2, and said the following about Seguin’s progression in an interview provided by the NHL.
“Well, I think he's progressed well and as expected all year long. Tyler was in maybe a different position I think than Taylor Hall, where he came to a team that obviously had a lot of veterans established.”
“I guess his presence in our lineup wasn't maybe as easy as it would have been in other circumstances. But what I liked and admired about Tyler is that he wanted to be part of a winning team.”
“He was certainly willing to pay the price and learn throughout the season. His attitude has been great. He's definitely bought into what we're trying to do with him, to make him a real great hockey player in the future.”
Seguin played just over six minutes in Game 1 versus Vancouver Wednesday night.

2011 Stanley Cup Finals: Dennis Seidenberg Talks Starting Game 2 Well, and More
Boston Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg has been one of the team’s best players all season, and has played brilliantly in the 2011 NHL playoffs.
Seidenberg spoke to the media prior to Game 2, and talked about starting out well Saturday night in an interview provided by the NHL.
“I think every game you start, you want to have a good start, you want to come out flying, you want to get momentum. It's not going to change again tomorrow.”
“In the past we've given up a few early goals. But we always seem to recover quick, come back from those early deficits. Again, tomorrow we're trying to get on top early.”
Seidenberg also spoke about young Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid, and his development this season in the same interview.
“Adam I think has shown all season that he's a solid defenseman. He hits really hard. He just keeps his game really simple. Very important part for our team.”

2011 Stanley Cup Finals: Dirk Nowitzki Watches Fellow Germans in NHL
Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki is one of the best players in the NBA, and as a German, he recognizes the performances of some of the German hockey players in the NHL.
Two German players are part of this year’s Cup Finals, Vancouver’s Christian Ehrhoff and Boston’s Dennis Seidenberg.
Reporters told Seidenberg they interviewed Nowtizki in Miami and he didn’t know that Seidenberg was German. Seidenberg was then asked if he felt “slighted.” Here is what Seidenberg said in an interview provided by the NHL.
“Actually, I haven't heard that yet. I don't know what I'm supposed to say to that (smiling). I follow him a lot. Obviously, he's a superstar. I still think he's a great player. It doesn't change anything.”
Nowitzki is believed to be cheering for the Canucks to win the series.

2011 Stanley Cup Finals: Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron talks about Game 2
The Boston Bruins will look to tie the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals tonight against the Vancouver Canucks, who won Game 1 with a goal from Raffi Torres with 18 seconds remaining in the third period.
Yesterday, Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron spoke about the importance of winning Game 2. He said the following in an interview provided by the NHL.
“Yeah, obviously we want to get back in this series. It's very important. We'll approach the next game always as the most important one. Now it's about Game 2. It's the biggest game right now of the series. It's always like that.”
“Now we're just concentrating on making sure we're coming out of here with a great game. Obviously we want the win.”
