Manchester United Transfer Rumours: Sir Alex Ferguson Lets Nasri Cat out of Bag
Arsenal fans would love this summer to be over. That would mean the summer window is over and they wouldn’t have to see their players leave their side.
For now, player after player is jumping ship. The latest seems to be their winger Samir Nasri. While no official word has leaked out, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has tipped his hat.
Ferguson traveled to Boston with his squad ahead of a tour of North America. The Red Devils will ramp up for the next season while selling their brand to the other side of the pond.
The past few months have seen quite a few rumours insinuating United would pounce on Arsenal winger, Samir Nasri. It turn out Manchester will have to keep looking.
Mirror Football reports Ferguson assured that United had lost out on signing Nasri, and that another club had won the battle.
Ferguson stated, “I don't think he is coming to United. That is all I can tell you. I think that he has agreed to go somewhere else."
Again, this is all speculative, but for the moment, Nasri is not going to Manchester United. That has to mean the search for Paul Scholes replacement continues.
Ferguson will have to open his pocketbook to sign what could be one of either Luka Modric or Wesley Sneijder. Either are already pricey acquisitions. With knowledge that United’s choices have been slimmed by one, that cost will surely be higher with teams in the know.
This puts a wrench in a summer that has been wonderful for Old Trafford. Ferguson has done well to secure the present and the future. Now comes the last piece in that pesky midfield position.
If there is any manager that can be counted on to secure the last piece to the puzzle, it is Ferguson.
