Life moves on the for the Big Shaqtus.
It appears that just because he’ll no longer be patrolling the lane doesn’t mean he won’t be involved in the world of hoops.
In a video Shaq posted just a few minutes ago it appears he will likely to working for ESPN sometimes after his retirement. It’s a natural move for both Shaq and ESPN. Shaq has long been one of the better spoken athletes.
He’s got a great personality and has the pedigree to command respect for his opinion, and he’s never been one to pull punches.
As for ESPN, it’s a great fit for the network who longs for a combination of great analysis combined with star power. Plenty try their hand as an analyst or commentator but there are many who don’t succeed.
Shaq will do well as long as he understands that a job like that requires work and he’ll have to do more than just rely on what he already knows. He’s going to have to know how to break games down and how to articulate his knowledge of the game.
That shouldn’t be hard for a man who’s never had trouble making the whole world clear about his feelings on just about anything.
This could be a marriage made in heaven.
