Manny Pacquiao’s Lawsuit Against Mayweather’s Still In Play
Manny Pacquiao Still Suing the Mayweather Family:
Even though Manny Pacquiao has officially dropped the defamation charges on Oscar de La Hoya and Richard Schaefer, he is still pursuing his case against the members of the Mayweather family that are involved- Floyd Mayweather, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Roger Mayweather.
The suit was filed in December of 2009 claiming that the accused parties had tried to defame Pacquiao’s reputation by claiming that he was using performance enhancing drugs.
Rick Rockwell of Examiner.com along with many other sources indicate that Pacquiao has reached a settlement with De la Hoya and Schaefer, but that the case is continuing against the Mayweather’s and they may even add to the lawsuit.
Over the last two months, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been more active in his public comments toward Manny Pacquiao including his continual allegations of Pacquiao being scared of taking drug tests and accusations of using PEDs. And to make matters worse for Floyd, he released a t-shirt on Sunday aimed toward Manny stating "Take the Test". On Wednesday, Pacquiao's attorney Daniel Petrocelli stated that they are possibly going to add more details to the defamation suit due to Mayweather's recent actions. According to GMA News, Petrocelli made the following comments:
"We may be adding to (the lawsuit) because of additional defamatory statements that the Mayweather folks have put out."
