According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the European sensation Ricky Rubio has came to an agreement with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Rubio will be joining to Wolves for the 2011-2012 season.

Rubio was the fifth overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft and has been playing for Regal Barcelona of the Spanish ACB League.

The Wolves plan to immediately start Rubio at point guard. Rubio has averaged 6.5 points and 3.2 assists in 20 regular season Euroleague games. A foot injury has held him back this past season.

A deal had to be made as of Tuesday for Rubio to be paid under the current rookie scale wage, which would be $3.5 million for a fifth overall pick.

This will prevent him from losing future earnings if the league and union agree on a more restrictive rookie wage scale.
