Brock Lesnar vs. JDS, TUF 13 on Spike TV: Tony Ferguson Defeats Charlie O'Neil
Chuck O’Neil is a gory mess and Tony Ferguson looks as if he’s barely exerted himself. Meanwhile, Charlie Rader and Clay Harvison (O’Neil’s cornermen) have seemingly abandoned any attempt to get Cold Steel on a game plan in favor of trying to boost his confidence out of the bloody gutter in which it must be.
We’ll see if that works.
Oof, the best inspiration in the world isn’t gonna help Chuck’s left leg—Tony lands a stiff jab and then goes right back to working hatcheting that stem. This time, O’Neil isn’t even trying to hide the pain as he flinchingly (and futilely) tries to avoid contact.
Chuck is now literally battling Ferguson with one leg as he’s hopping around on his one good leg and grabbing the cage for extra support. His corner is desperate, but he’s badly beaten and seems to be in the process of breaking with about four minutes left in the final round.
Can’t say I blame him since he’s been surviving on pure heart for the last round and a half.
More leg kicks, more jabs and more hooks land from Tony as the end is only a matter of time now—Cold Steel is simply trying to minimize the carnage at this point. A big left hook staggers Chuck and a stinging straight right hand puts O’Neil on the canvas, then Tony tries to rush back in after gesturing for Chuck to get up.
Homey is all class.
Thankfully, referee Herb Dean is there to stop him before he gets to Chuck...and then again to save him moments later when a series of leg kicks, elbows, body blows and jabs trigger the inevitable fetal position from Cold Steel.
Tony Ferguson defeats Chuck O’Neil by TKO (punches) at 3:10 of the third round.
