Fera informed Penn State recruiting coordinator Mike McQueary during his school lunch break, his father, Tony Fera, said according to Rivals.com.

"I just talked to Anthony; he just called McQueary and gave him the news," the elder Fera said. "He committed to Penn State and is pretty happy with his decision."

The 6'2", 230-pound kicker also had scholarship offers from Michigan and Kansas State. Fera was offered a grayshirt offer from Ohio State.

Fera is the 19th member of the Penn State class of 2009.
