Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann Welcome Baby Boy into the World

It is not easy to find a silver lining in the on-going saga that is the NFL lockout. I do have one bit of news that will bring a smile to even the most cynical football fan.

There is a new football fan in the world, and my guess is that he will be claiming the Atlanta Falcons as his team. Just as soon as he can form words that is.

Falcon's defensive end, Kroy Biermann, welcomed his son into the world on Wednesday. Kroy Jagger Biermann is named after his hard-hitting NFL pop.

The mom is well know reality star Kim Zolciak. The Real Wives of Atlanta star has three prior children, but this is her first with fiancee Kroy.

Biermann took part in a couple of episodes last season. So the defensive player is not entirely shy. I can only assume that the new bundle of joy will become an integral part of the new season.

I can also assume that the proud dad is filling the nursery with football helmets and little tiny tackling dummies.

You don't normally make this level of brouhaha over an athletes child, but this is not the normal NFL landscape. I will take any good news and savor it for the next few months.

There is no telling when we will get happy stories coming from America's most beloved game. So it may border on reality TV, but I'll take it anyway.
